When we come into your home we will be performing the following items to your property.

·        Identify the source of the problem and the scope of the damage

·        Evaluate carpeting.

·        Evaluate flooring whether it’s tile, vinyl, laminate, hardwood or the sub-flooring.

·        Evaluate walls, ceilings and cabinets to determine the extent of damage.

·        Apply antimicrobials and/or odor control.

·        Place/set up air movers and/or dehumidifiers.

·        Explain future visits and expectations.

 DOs 

Ø      If the outside temperature is above 60 degrees, use dehumidifiers if available.

Ø      Use fans to circulate the air and assist drying.

Ø      Remove as much water as possible by mopping and blotting.

Ø      Wipe furniture dry.

Ø      Lift draperies off carpet, loop through a coat hanger, and place the hanger on the drapery rod.

Ø      Prop up wet furniture cushions for even drying and place small wood blocks or aluminum foil under furniture legs.

Ø      Remove wet area rugs or other floor coverings.

Ø      Open furniture drawers, closet doors, and luggage to enhance drying.

Ø      Move photos, paintings, and art objects to a safe, dry location.

Ø     Remove wet fabrics and dry them as soon as possible. Hang furs and leather goods to dryseparately at room temperature.

Ø      Remove damp books from shelves and spread out to dry.

Ø      If damage occurs during a cool season, leave heat on; if in summer use an air conditioner if available.

DON'Ts

Ø      Do not use an ordinary household vacuum to remove water.

Ø      Do not use electrical appliances while on wet carpet or wet floors.

Ø      Do not go into rooms with standing water if the electricity is still on.

Ø      Do not lift tacked down carpet without professional help. Lifting the carpet incorrectly could promote shrinkage.

Ø      Do not wait to call for professional help. Damage from the water and bacteria growth can begin within hours.

Ø      Do not use your household vacuum to remove water.

Ø      Do not leave books, magazines, or any colored items on wet carpets or floors.

Ø      Do not turn on ceiling fixtures (if ceiling is wet).

Ø      Do not leave wet fabrics in place.
